City to Turn 32 With a Weeklong Fiesta
A weeklong fiesta and celebration is planned for the coming week as Camarillo celebrates its 32nd birthday.
The observance begins Sunday with a ceremony at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel on East Ventura Boulevard and a Tiny Tots pageant at Camarillo City Hall.
Other events include the Mayor’s Mixer at 6 p.m. Friday in Constitution Park and a Mexican carnival in the park Friday night and all day Saturday.
The week of activities will culminate with a parade next Saturday from Daily Drive and Arneill Road to Constitution Park, next door to City Hall. The event will feature a birthday cake celebration.
The fiesta began decades ago as a birthday party for Adolfo Camarillo, the rancher for whom the city is named. The city incorporated on Oct. 22, 1964.
For information, call City Hall at 388-5314.
