In the Freedom League:

Lucerne Valley 25, St. Margaret’s 14--Lucerne Valley earned its first Freedom League victory Saturday night defeating St. Margaret’s at San Clemente High.

Running back Eric Butterworth led the Mustangs, rushing for three touchdowns and 298 yards in 36 carries. It was his fifth consecutive game in which he has gained more than 100 yards.

“The offensive line did a hell of a job,” first-year Coach David Griffiths said. “He [Butterworth] wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without them.”
