CHP Officer and Motorist Collide on Street in Moorpark
A California Highway Patrol officer, making a left turn while en route to a traffic accident, collided with a car driven by a Moorpark man on Tierra Rejada Road on Monday morning. Neither was seriously injured.
The officer, Gary Adams, was driving west on Tierra Rejada Road about 7:30 a.m. on his way to an accident at Moorpark and Santa Rosa roads.
While attempting to turn left onto Moorpark Road, Adams, 45, collided with a 1993 Saturn driven by Ronald Eisel, 48, who was heading east on Tierra Rejada Road toward Simi Valley. The impact caused Eisel’s Saturn to spin off the road and strike a signal pole.
Eisel was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Adams remained at the scene but later sought treatment for minor injuries.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol, both investigating the accident, had not yet determined who was at fault.
