2nd Reward Offered in Boy’s Shooting Death
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the shooting death of an 11-year-old boy in North Hollywood.
Paul Youhanian of Santa Clarita was shot Oct. 5 as he sat in the back seat of his mother’s minivan on Sherman Way.
Last week the city of Los Angeles offered a $25,000 reward in connection with the shooting. A Los Angeles police investigator said Tuesday that police have no leads but hope the reward money will convince people to step forward.
The bullet, which police believe was fired from a high-powered gun, went through a side window before striking the fifth-grader in the head.
The family had recently moved from North Hollywood to Santa Clarita to escape from violence in their old neighborhood. They were on their way to visit relatives when the shooting occurred.
