King update--In six games, they have given up only one power-play goal in 29 attempts. The goal was scored by the Flyers on Oct. 10 at Philadelphia. Logging most of the penalty-killing duty have been forwards Ian Laperriere and Dan Bylsma. “I don’t know [why], but when the engine isn’t broken, why fix it,” Coach Larry Robinson said of the penalty-killing success. Goaltender Stephane Fiset, who last played Saturday in Washington, will start tonight, Robinson said.

Bruin update--Former King right wing Rick Tocchet scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Monday’s 5-4 victory over Vancouver. The Bruins, who have lost once (to Phoenix) in four games, are midway through a four-game West Coast trip, which concludes on Sunday at Anaheim. Among the injured Bruins who are out indefinitely are right wing Sandy Moger (broken left foot), defenseman Jon Rohloff (sprained ankle), defenseman Dean Chynoweth (recovering from abdominal surgery) and defenseman Dean Malkoc (left wrist surgery).
