WFS Financial Inc.: The Irvine-based automobile finance company posted a 22.9% increase in earnings for the third quarter on a 44.5% gain in revenue. Net income rose to $10.2 million, or 40 cents per share, from $8.3 million, or 34 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue totaled $52.9 million, up from $36.6 million. For the first nine months, WFS reported net income of $29.2 million, or $1.14 per share, up 41% from $20.7 million, or 95 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue climbed 58.5% to $150.3 million from $94.8 million.
