Bishop Amat 24, Crespi 21--Nick Rita and Dennis Fox connected for three touchdown pass plays in a third-quarter comeback, but Crespi (3-3) fell short against Bishop Amat (5-1).
After spotting the Lancers a 17-0 halftime lead, Fox and Rita went to work, cutting the lead to 17-14 on pass plays of 39 and eight yards.
Running back Breon Ansley--who opened the scoring with a one-yard run on Bishop Amat’s first possession--scored the game-winner on a 44-yard run with 3:47 left in the third quarter. Ansley finished with 205 yards in 26 carries.
Fox and Rita connected one more time on a 13-yard scoring play as time expired in the third period.
Rita completed 15 of 41 pass attempts for 224 yards and was intercepted twice. Fox had 10 receptions for 167 yards.
