Tuffree Trial Shows Disregard for Police

Share

The murder trial involving Daniel Allan Tuffree is just another example of the extreme injustice occurring in California.

We as police officers are sworn to protect and, if necessary, die for the citizens of this state. We all take the oath willingly and in doing so place ourselves in extreme jeopardy. The dangers we all face are the civil suits and unjust verdicts, and lack of verdicts announced in our courts of law.

Who cares if the tactics used by Simi Valley officers were bad or good? The facts are the officers were called to a serious situation and responded like they are supposed to. They were investigating a dangerous situation and an officer was killed in the line of duty. Another family lost a father, another fine officer was gunned down.

Our citizens fail us again with their inability to announce to the world, that you cannot kill a police officer doing his duty.

Officer Michael Clark was a brave police officer, a good husband and father, and brother to all of us in law enforcement. His death is not in vain as far as we are concerned. We miss him and admire his courage and willingness to protect and serve, and give his very life in the line of duty.

We police officers need to consider many things when faced with life-threatening situations. We must all now consider if the very people we protect are worth our sacrifices anymore.
