Bones, Likely Human, Found in Forest
ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST —
A quail hunter found bones in the forest on Sunday afternoon that Sheriff’s Department officials believe to be human.
The skeletal remains were discovered at about 3:30 p.m. adjacent to a remote hiking trail near Big Pines Highway, west of Big Pines, said Sgt. Ron Spear.
Deputies from the Lancaster sheriff’s station planned to secure the location overnight for the arrival today of homicide investigators, who will evaluate the remains, Spear said.
