Duck update--They’re on a two-game trip to the East Coast before returning to Anaheim for an eight-game homestand, during which they expect Paul Kariya to rejoin the team. He has been recovering from an abdominal injury and can’t return soon enough for the Ducks, who have lost four consecutive games and have won only once. They played the Flyers last Wednesday at the Pond, blowing a two-goal lead in a 4-3 loss.

Flyer update--Eric Lindros didn’t play in Philadelphia’s victory over the Ducks last week at the Pond because of a groin injury and won’t play tonight either. Lindros has started skating but was discouraged by his lack of progress and has been to see specialist Bill Garrett at Duke University in Durham, N.C. The Flyers are also without Dale Hawerchuk, who has a hip injury. The Flyers haven’t played since Friday, when they completed their three-game West Coast trip with a 3-1 victory over Phoenix.
