Pacers’ Dampier Undergoes Surgery

Indiana Pacer rookie forward-center Erick Dampier underwent hernia surgery in Indianapolis and is expected to return to practice next week.
It was unknown how many games Dampier will miss once the season begins next Friday, Pacer spokesman David Benner said.
The 6-foot-11 Dampier has averaged 9.7 points and 5.7 rebounds in the preseason.
