I commend you and Carl Duncan for the excellent article on Jaisalmer (“India’s Golden City,” Oct. 6). Jaisalmer is definitely unique and off most international tourist routes. It might be of interest to note that even in India it was relatively unknown until the legendary Indian filmmaker and writer Satyajit Ray set his best-selling novel--and later the movie--”The Golden Fortress” in Jaisalmer.
