* In California, the race card is very much like the ace card; it wins over and over again (e.g., Proposition 187; O.J., etc.). The only question is when and will the dealer play it. Gov. Wilson did; the Dream Team did; and now the Dole team is (“Dole Betting the Campaign on California,” Oct. 22). Is it too little, too late?

* Bob Dole has blamed everyone and everything for the state of his campaign. He has now asked Ross Perot to drop out of the race and support him (Oct. 25). What kind of President would he be? No reality, lots of blame, no executable plans for the future.

* Does anyone realize that when we go to the polls on Nov. 5, we will have the honor and the privilege of voting for a World War II veteran for the very last time? Dole has the experience, the ability, the intelligence and the character to bring our country successfully into the 21st century.
