Microsoft Executive to Advise DreamWorks

DreamWorks SKG said it has hired Patty Stonesifer, senior vice president for Microsoft Corp.’s interactive media division, as a special consultant. Stonesifer will advise DreamWorks and its partly owned computer animation and visual technology company, Pacific Data Images. The job begins early next year. Stonesifer, who is credited with building Microsoft into an interactive-media powerhouse, has worked with DreamWorks before as part of its joint venture with Microsoft for interactive games and software. Microsoft was a contributor to DreamWorks’ $30-million start-up costs and has taken an unspecified stake in the entertainment company.
