Teenager Dies After Motorcycle Hits Median
A Thousand Oaks teenager died Tuesday from head injuries suffered when his motorcycle hit the center median near the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Cloverleaf Street, authorities said.
David Furtow, 18, was northbound on Westlake Boulevard at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred at 2:24 p.m., according to police and a Ventura County medical examiner’s office spokesman. Furtow was pronounced dead on arrival at Columbia Los Robles Hospital.
The accident occurred before it began to rain, and weather is not believed to have played a role, police said.
