Philadelphia 4, Tampa Bay 3--Trent Klatt scored twice as the Flyers overcame a three-goal deficit and beat the Lightning at Tampa, Fla.

On both goals, Klatt beat Lightning goalkeeper Corey Schwab with wrist shots after Tampa Bay was unable to clear the puck.

Hartford 4, Boston 4--Rick Tocchet scored two goals, the second of which tied the game with 2:54 left in regulation and gave the Bruins a tie with the Whalers at Boston.

Tocchet knocked in a rebound for the goal, which was only allowed after the referee ruled that Bruins forward Jean-Yves Roy was in the crease because he was pushed there.
