3 Men Booked After Drug Raid at Ventura Restaurant

Police raided a Mexican fast-food restaurant opposite a west Ventura elementary school after discovering the eatery allegedly offered customers the opportunity to buy cocaine along with burritos.

Three Ventura men were booked into the county jail after Thursday’s bust: 57-year-old Federico “Angel” Benavente on suspicion of selling cocaine, 21-year-old Jorge Herrera Matehuala on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale, and 21-year-old Sergio Martinez Alvarez on suspicion of possessing cocaine.

The arrests came after Ventura narcotics detectives conducted a two-week investigation into reports employees of Quintero’s Fast Food sold cocaine from the restaurant’s walk-up window, police said.
