CSUN Satellite Takes Fall ’97 Applications

Share

Administrators at the Ventura campus of Cal State Northridge announced Monday that they have begun accepting applications for the fall 1997 academic school year.

The announcement comes weeks after Cal State Northridge officials said they could no longer accept undergraduate applications for the spring semester because of overcrowding at the San Fernando Valley and Ventura campuses.

Undergraduate students applying for admission to the satellite campus must have completed 56 transferable units and must submit transcripts from each community college or university they have attended.

The Ventura campus now offers a range of academic programs, including accounting, child development, English, history, nursing, education training, public administration and others.

More than 1,500 students enrolled in classes this semester at the offshoot campus, located at 2151 Alessandro Drive in Ventura.

State and local officials hope to move the satellite campus onto the grounds of Camarillo State Hospital by fall 1998, when the school would be christened Cal State Channel Islands.
