Detectives asked for the public’s help in finding four suspects involved in the shooting death Thursday of a 14-year-old bicyclist in East Los Angeles.

The boy, whose name was withheld pending notification of relatives, died at East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital after the 11:30 a.m. shooting, said sheriff’s Deputy Mark Bailey.

The boy was riding in the 3900 block of Whittier Boulevard when a car with four suspects drove alongside him and stopped, Bailey said. Two stepped out and opened fire. Their motive is unknown.
