La Quinta High School has received a $10,000 grant from the Coast Community College Tech-Prep Consortium to plan and implement technology-based education programs.
High school administrators said they plan to use the money for new business and technological systems classes on campus beginning in the spring.
La Quinta Principal Jim Monahan said the new technology-based programs will help students planning to attend technical schools to go directly into the workplace or continue with related courses in college.
The Tech-Prep Consortium is a partnership with Coast Community College District, Garden Grove Unified School District, Huntington Beach Union High School District and Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
