Museum Fund-Raiser to Laud City Manager
The Anaheim Museum will honor City Manager James D. Ruth at a benefit dinner Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Anaheim Marriott hotel.
Bill Marshall, museum administrator, said Ruth was selected as the honoree because of his support of the nonprofit, privately funded museum over the past six years.
“His efforts on behalf of the museum have vastly improved the relationship between the city and the museum,” Marshall said of Ruth, who became the city’s top administrator in 1990.
The museum, incorporated in 1982, has been housed in the former library building at 241 S. Anaheim Blvd. at Broadway since late 1987.
The building, completed in 1908, is one of the few remaining historic structures downtown and is provided and maintained by the city.
The public may attend Thursday’s $100-a-person dinner, which is a benefit for the museum. The Marriott is at 700 W. Convention Way.
