Traffic to Be Studied Near Business Park
As construction at the Business Park area along Katella Avenue and Valley View Street proceeds, city officials have commissioned a traffic study to make sure that the development is not having any adverse effects.
The City Council this week approved a $6,400 contract for a survey after Community Development Director Chris Kelly pointed out that approval for the development was linked to traffic forecasts. A new study will see how accurate the forecasts have been, she said.
“As the Business Park proceeds to build out, it is important to review the actual traffic conditions to ensure that the assumptions are still valid,” Kelly said.
The new survey will check traffic at Katella Avenue and Valley View Street intersections. Public Works Director Mark Christoffels said the study may find points where street improvements are needed to help traffic flow. He said the new traffic survey would be “a reality check” on the earlier predictions.
