Quake Rescue Teams Search for Miners
From Times Wire Reports
Rescuers looking for workers trapped in a gold mine found two bodies and three survivors, and they said they believe that others remain trapped after a powerful earthquake. Army patrols were sent to the Huanca mine in Nazca, 235 miles southeast of Lima, the capital. The mine caved in during Tuesday’s magnitude-6.4 quake. It was unclear how many people were trapped. Officials, meanwhile, revised the death toll to 11 and the number injured to 560 people.
