Ohio Hostage Standoff Ends Without Gunfire
A man entered the state workers’ compensation headquarters offices carrying a rifle Wednesday and took three hostages before surrendering peacefully.
The man’s father told reporters his son had an unresolved claim with the agency involving a back injury and said he had been trying to collect up to $300,000.
The man, not immediately identified, took three men hostage in the 12th-floor offices of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation but released two of them several hours later before surrendering. There were no injuries.
