Kunau was especially happy with the play of Odenath, who was 15 of 20 for 260 yards including three touchdown throws of 56, 27, and 10 yards.

“He’s a great quarterback,” said Kunau. “[Brethren Christian quarterback David] Priestley may get a lot of the press, but Odenath proved himself. He’s unselfish.”

Odenath had much to say about the Lancers’ performance.

“It’s the first time that we’ve ever been undefeated in league, “ he said. “We’ve worked so hard to get here. This is the best team in three years.”

The Lancers have also been helped this season by running back Travis Freeman and wide receiver Mike Crawford.

“They’re just great,” Odenath said. “Freeman is one of the best outright runners in the county and Crawford’s touchdown catch tonight was just awesome.”
