Village Christian 49, Maranatha 13--David Romberger rushed for 179 yards and four touchdowns to help the Crusaders clinch second place.

The Crusaders (8-2, 3-1) scored 28 points in the second quarter, led by touchdown runs of three, five and four yards by Romberger, who rushed for 129 yards in the first half. Romberger surpassed 1,000 yards rushing.

“Our offense flowed very well and we all played very hard,” Romberger said.

Maranatha (4-6, 1-3) could manage only 82 yards in the first half and had just five first downs.

Mike Malloy added 65 yards in eight carries for Village Christian, which got touchdown runs of one yard by Jeff Johnston and five yards by Aaron Funk.
