Trash Collection Costs to Fall Jan. 1
The cost of trash collection in this city is going down.
Effective Jan. 1, trash fees for residents will drop to $14 a month from the current rate of $15.55. The fees for businesses will be cut 1.5% to 6.6%, depending on the type of service that the city’s waste hauler provides, City Manager Terry Matz said.
Some businesses have their trash picked up more frequently than others, which would cause the fee to vary, he said.
The fee reduction is the result of the county’s May decision to cut landfill charges to waste haulers, officials said.
