Suspect Arraigned in Restaurateur’s Death
A man accused of shooting to death a 30-year-old Santa Paula woman outside of the restaurant she owned pleaded not guilty during a hearing Friday.
Felix Magana, 50, will stand trial for allegedly shooting Isabel Guzman Nov. 2 as she was unloading supplies from a truck in the alley behind La Playita Seafood on East Main Street. Prosecutors still do not have a motive for the slaying.
“We don’t have a clue,” said Deputy Dist. Atty. Greg Phillips, who is prosecuting the case.
A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 16. Magana remains in the Ventura County Jail. His bail is set at $500,000.
