Authorities Can’t Be Bothered With Tip

Share

As I was driving down the 23 Freeway on my way to Thousand Oaks, a very disturbing incident took place. I was following a dark blue pickup with a camper shell, and the driver was flicking ashes from a cigarette continually for about three miles. Before approaching the turn into the 101 Freeway, the driver flicked the cigarette out into some freeway brush. I was hoping that this individual with poor judgment would not cause another major calamity [in] our area.

My wife took the liberty of writing down the license number and called the East Valley Sheriff’s Station to report this information. She was told, in essence, since we lived in Simi Valley, we could report it to the Simi Police Department. Or to be blunt, East Valley didn’t particularly care to take the information down.

The question is now: What good does it do to want to report violations like the above, regarding the safety of people and homes?

The answer is: Why bother!
