Team Lacking Killer Instinct

Share

An old problem for the Lakers emerged again Friday night--besides Dominique Wilkins.

They were up by 15 against San Antonio in the third quarter, then let the Spurs back in the game, all the way to 87-81 with 3:20 remaining.

“We have to learn to develop a killer instinct no matter who we play,” Shaquille O’Neal said. “Not just when we play the big guys.”

Of the 29 teams in the league, 10 have pictures of a player, or a player and the coach, on the opponents’ page in their media guides. One is the Lakers. Of the nine others, eight chose to spotlight O’Neal. One didn’t.
