Phone Books Being Taken for Recycling
Residents can drop off phone books for recycling at 16 locations citywide until Dec. 13.
Used yellow and white pages collected during the drive will be turned into return envelopes used by utility companies, said Florine Reichle, assistant manager of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District. Sites are identified with yellow banners and bins.
Drop-off points at the following locations are open 24 hours:
* City Hall, 77 Fair Drive.
* 300 block of Fischer Avenue.
* Orange Coast College Recycling Center, Adams Avenue between Fairview Road and Pinecreek Drive
* Adams Elementary School, 2850 Clubhouse Road.
* Costa Mesa High School, 2650 Fairview Road.
* Estancia High School, 2323 Placentia Ave.
* Kaiser Primary Center, 2025 Garden Lane.
* Kaiser Elementary School, 2130 Santa Ana Ave.
* Costa Mesa Disposal, 2051 Placentia Ave.
* Lions Park, 570 W. 18th St.
* Shiffer Park, 3143 Bear St.
* Killybrooke Elementary School, 3155 Killybrooke Lane.
* Paularino Elementary School, 1060 Paularino Ave.
* Pomona Elementary School, 2051 Pomona Ave.
* TeWinkle Middle School, 3224 California St.
* Whittier Elementary School, 1800 N. Whittier Ave.
