Hans Klein; Press Chief for ’72 Munich Olympics, Diplomat

Hans “Johnny” Klein, 65, press chief for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games that were overshadowed by the attack on Israeli athletes by Palestinian terrorists. Klein, who had a distinguished career as a journalist, diplomat and lawmaker, was also Chancellor Helmut Kohl’s spokesman in 1989-90.
