Builder Looking Out for the Community

Share

As someone who has been a lifelong resident of Simi Valley, I wanted to comment on your recent article about the unanimous passage of the Long Canyon project by the Planning Commission.

Throughout the years I have watched the changes in the landscape in Simi Valley. I have seen City Hall rise up on the orchard field that I used to play on during my childhood. I have watched paths once used for horseback riding change over to busy streets. I have watched my community grow and change, and I have watched the developments in Wood Ranch.

Through all of this, I can say that the Long Canyon project is not only an environmentally sensitive development, but has also brought our community together. I strongly support the Long Canyon project because the developer, New Urban West, Inc., has kept the interests of the residents a top priority. They’ve listened to our concerns, brought nearly 300 residents together who support the project, and have made an effort to provide an environmentally sound plan for many of us residents who want to retain the natural beauty of our community.
