MIGHTY DUCKS TONIGHT

Share

Opponent--Edmonton Oilers.

Site--Pond of Anaheim.

Time--5.

Radio--KEZY-FM (95.9)

Records--Ducks 7-14-4, Oilers 13-12-1.

Record vs. Oilers (1995-96)--1-4.

Duck update--They have won three of their last four games and had a winning record during November, going 6-5-2. They have a ways to go after an awful 1-9-2 October, but with Paul Kariya healthy and goalie Guy Hebert hot, their worst problems seem over. Hebert has two shutouts in the last four games, and Kariya, with seven goals, is on pace to score 40 despite sitting out 13 games because of injuries. Defenseman Jason Marshall might return to the lineup after sitting out two games because of a finger injury, and defenseman Dmitri Mironov is probable after being hit in the foot by a shot Friday.

Oiler update--Edmonton didn’t make the playoffs last season but took eight points from the Ducks, who missed the playoffs by a single point. The Oilers are 4-1-1 in their last six games, the only loss a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Kings on Wednesday in Edmonton. Four players already have at least 10 goals--Andrei Kovalenko and Ryan Smith each have 12 and Jason Arnott and Mariusz Czerkawski each have 10.
