‘London Kills Me’

Hanif Kureishi’s 1992 directorial debut seems less resounding and more scattershot than his earlier scripts for filmmaker Stephen Frears, but this film does suggest how street life can suddenly erupt into a carnival. At its simplest level, the film is about how Clint (Justin Chadwick, pictured with Emer McCourt), a 20-year-old street hustler who takes his name from Mr. Eastwood, attempts to straighten out his life by getting a job at a trendy restaurant (Bravo Wednesday at 5 and 11 p.m.).
