Sunny, Clear and Cool Skies Expected

The San Fernando Valley will be cool and clear this week, as weather forecasters expect rain heading for Southern California to dissipate before reaching the Los Angeles area.

“It looks like there will be a slight chance of precipitation moving down the coast later in the week,” said Dave Danielson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. “It’ll get perhaps as far as Santa Barbara later in the week. It should dry out before it gets down here.”

For the Los Angeles area, the only effect from the storm system is likely to be some patchy clouds along the coast on Thursday. But even those will not reach into the San Fernando Valley, Danielson said.

The strong Santa Ana winds that blew through the area last week have eased, although moderate surface winds will continue.

Skies will be clear and sunny this week, with low temperatures in the 40s and highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. High temperatures today are expected to be 71 in Woodland Hills and 68 in Burbank.
