The Sylmar Women’s Club will hold its annual holiday boutique and luncheon to benefit scholarship programs and charities of the northeast San Fernando Valley Saturday.

The Sylmar Women’s Club is a philanthropic organization that began as a sewing circle with eight women in 1957. Today, the organization has more than 100 members and contributes to a variety of causes, such as a scholarship program at Mission College and scholarships to help graduates of Sylmar High School attend colleges and universities.

“All of us live in the Sylmar community and we want to support things that contribute to people in this area,” said club member Bonni R. Birkhahn.

The holiday boutique will offer baked goods and a variety of homemade crafts, such as hand-painted dolls and ornamental eggs, for sale, Birkhahn said.

The luncheon costs $25 and will feature a holiday performance by students from Olive Vista Junior High School in Sylmar.

Both events will be held at the Odyssey Restaurant, 15600 Odyssey Drive, Granada Hills. The luncheon begins at noon. For reservations or details, call (818) 367-4626.
