Bus Driver Held in U.S. Envoy’s Death

Police in southern China have arrested a bus driver who allegedly fled after his vehicle was involved in a crash that killed a U.S. diplomat, Chinese officials said. Philip Lincoln, the U.S. consul general in Guangzhou, was killed Monday in a car crash in Guangxi along with a Beihai city official and their driver. Lincoln’s vehicle had collided with a bus that pulled into the oncoming lane to overtake a slower vehicle, a Guangxi official said.
