Traffic Circles

I found the Nov. 27 article by Louis Sahagun about traffic circles to be both interesting and curious.

Although there are traffic circles in Orange and Avalon not mentioned in the piece, they are quite rare in the United States and therefore, unless we become familiar with them, their use will feel quite odd. Accidents will happen. But low-speed, same-way fender-benders are preferable to those in opposing traffic. Also we are increasingly aware of the pollution and waste while spending downtime at large, modern intersections.
