Clipper update--After making only four of 21 shots and scoring nine points in losses to the Utah Jazz and New Jersey Nets, forward Loy Vaught has made 19 of 36 shots and averaged 21 points and 14.5 rebounds in his last two games. Guard Malik Sealy, who has sat out two games because of an ankle injury, hopes to play tonight. The Knicks beat the Clippers, 88-81, in overtime last month at the Sports Arena and the Clippers have lost six of their last seven games.

Knick update--After the Clippers beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden last season, Coach Don Nelson was fired several days later. Jeff Van Gundy, who succeeded Nelson, has been under fire. The Knicks had lost four of their last six games before beating Miami on Friday. Van Gundy has three new starters in the lineup this season, Allan Houston, Larry Johnson and Chris Childs, who sat out the first nine games because of a broken leg.
