A POLITICAL PIPE DREAM

Share

I enjoyed reading Michael Walker’s CEO article (“Ladies and gentlemen, the CEO of the United States,” Nov. 3). It’s interesting contemplating all the brilliant American men and women I’d like to see running this country exactly like a Fortune 500 company. Of course, dealing with the U.S. Congress would present the CEO of the United States more of a challenge than having to deal with a board of directors.

All of these hopes will remain a painful pipe dream until we reform our national election process and attract someone other than career politicians--those perennials who are so entrenched with special interests that their hands are tied tightly when they are elected.

What business leader would be insane enough to run for office under the current system?
