Repaving Scheduled for Roads in 4 Areas
Streets in four West Valley communities will be repaved and in some cases partially rebuilt early next year, Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky announced.
The work will be done on portions of Triunfo Canyon Road and Canwood Street in the Agoura/Westlake Village areas, Hartman Way and Sorority Lane in Woodland Hills and Iverson Road and Alta Way in Chatsworth.
The work is expected to increase safety, reduce maintenance costs and extend the life of the service roads, Yaroslavsky said.
The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to open bids for the project, administered by the Department of Public Works, on Jan. 7.
The projects will begin in March and end in April. Local access to the roads will be maintained during construction, but some affected streets may be closed to traffic during daytime working hours, Yaroslavsky said.
And once work begins, Canwood Street, Iverson Road and Triunfo Canyon Road may be reduced to one lane for both directions during the day, controlled by flag operators.
