Memorable Goals for Drury and Sacco

Ted Drury had just sent the puck around the boards and behind the Boston net when Troy Mallette slammed him into the boards with a hard check.

Drury bounced up, drove to the front of the net, accepted a pass from Ken Baumgartner and scored his first goal in 18 games.

“I think I went down so hard I was able to bounce right back up,” said Drury, whose last goal was Oct. 18 against San Jose.

Drury and Joe Sacco, who scored the Ducks’ first goal, played college hockey in the Boston area and enjoyed a happy homecoming. Drury played at Harvard and Sacco at Boston University.

“I think my last goal here was at the Bean Pot tournament and that was seven years ago,” Sacco said after scoring his first NHL goal at Boston. “I knew it would come, but we only play here once a year. I get pretty pumped up to come back here to play against the Bruins.”

Teemu Selanne’s assist on Steve Rucchin’s first period goal was the 200th of his career. Selanne also has a six-game point streak (four goals, five assists). . . .
