Muriel Elaine Penn, a nine-year Ventura County resident, died Dec. 3. She was 74.

Penn, who was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Chicago, was a longtime San Fernando Valley resident who worked in the loan and escrow business before moving to Ventura County to retire, said her sister, Alyce Carver of Ventura.

In retirement, Penn married her third husband, Ralph Penn of Ventura, a friend of her sister’s.

“I got them interested in each other because he was lonely and she was lonely,” Carver said.

Penn is also survived by a brother, Vincent Glaudin of Portland, Ore., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
