Applicants Are Sought for 1997-98 Grand Jury
The Orange County jury commissioner is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the 1997-98 grand jury.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old and residents of Orange County for at least one year. Applicants also must be proficient in English. The deadline to submit applications is Jan. 31.
Members of the grand jury are required to work weekdays and some evenings and weekends. The new terms begin next July 2 and run through June 30, 1998.
Organizations whose members want to know more about the job can arrange for a presentation by Superior Court judges who serve on the grand jury selection committee. The judges will show a 10-minute video outlining the duties of grand jurors and will hold question-and-answer sessions.
