SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

A review of state and district testing requirements for students is on the agenda for tonight’s board meeting of the Anaheim Union High School District.

Assistant Supt. Jock Fischer will be reviewing recent revisions of how pupils are evaluated and compare those with the district’s current program.

The high school district is delaying selection of a new standardized test until March 1, when the state’s list of approved tests comes out, Fischer said. A new statewide assessment test is scheduled to be completed by 1999.

Fischer said the Golden State Exam will be expanded this year to include history and written composition sections. Last year, Anaheim Union was a pilot district for the new sections and has several teachers who helped to read the exams.

The trustees meet at 7:45 p.m. at the Education Center, 501 Crescent Way. Information: (714) 999-3511.
