Volunteers Sought for County Panels

Share

Do you want a hand in the way the county plans its neighborhoods, operates its fields, regulates hunting or cares for the elderly?

Do you care about mosquito abatement in Moorpark? Cemetery operations in Simi Valley? Economic vitality countywide?

Ventura County Supervisor Judy Mikels’ staff is trying to build a pool of volunteers to serve on county boards and commissions that help govern these functions and more.

Mikels’ office is looking for volunteers to nominate before the Board of Supervisors as representatives for the 4th Supervisorial District. These volunteers will represent Simi Valley and Moorpark on panels such as the county Planning Commission, the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee, the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council and the Fish & Game Advisory Commission.

“We don’t have that many openings, but we’re always seeing the same people volunteering,” said Keith Jajko, aide to Mikels. “She’s trying to get some fresh faces in there, and just trying to get more people involved in the whole process.”

To volunteer, call Jajko in Mikels’ office at 582-8010.
