School District to Hold Dinner Tonight
To celebrate the Christmas spirit, Rio School District employees and local vendors have donated turkeys, trimmings and other goodies for a community dinner tonight.
About 900 school parents, students, district employees and law enforcement officers are expected to attend, said Roy Swickard, the event’s organizer and president of the Rio chapter of the California School Employees Assn.
The traditional dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. at the cafeteria of Rio del Valle Junior High School, 3100 Rose Ave., Oxnard. For more information, call Supt. Yolanda Benitez at (805) 485-3111 or Roy Swickard at (805) 485-3914.
