Beautifying Reseda

Share

* Might I suggest that the city could easily provide great assistance to the efforts of three Reseda homeowners in providing “A Modest Renaissance in Reseda” (Dec. 1) by prohibiting parking during morning and afternoon rush hours in the section of Sherman Way that narrows from three to two lanes as it wends its way through Reseda?

Such a measure would reduce emissions by cars slowed or stopped in bumper-to-bumper traffic, allowing for improved air quality and a better environment for the flowers and other plants placed by the volunteers.

Additionally, there would be fewer cigarette butts dropped on the streets by drivers and passengers as their nerves are jangled and their passage slowed through this area.

I look forward to city enactment of such a parking ban as an expression of support of the enterprising homeowners and the community at large.
