A Santa Paula man suffered multiple facial fractures and a broken leg after his car reportedly veered across the westbound lanes of East Harbor Boulevard, jumped a curb and hit two large trees early Wednesday morning, police said.

Roger Tinsley, 37, was driving east shortly after 4 a.m. when the accident happened. Tinsley’s car was so mangled, the Santa Paula Fire Department had to pry him from the vehicle.

Tinsley was listed in critical, but stable condition Wednesday night at Ventura County Medical Center, hospital officials said.
